Inktober Witch Continued

More costumes for the Inktober witch.  Can you believe this month is almost over!? So Oct 14 was space them, I went with a retro future look. Oct 15 was royal, I did a Victorian inspired queen. Oct 16th was beast master. I designed an animal skin costume along with a wolf head dress.  I thought about skin-walkers, those who become the animal.  Oct 17 was Necromancer, so I did some skulls and bones. And last on that page was Music, which i don't love, based on a majorette costume.

The second page has Tech witch, I was inspired by Mech suits and included some solar panels. Oct 20 was mermaid, petty fish design... Oct 21 was Potion Brewer, I did a variation on my merchant witch.  Oct 22 was Knight witch, so suit of fantasy armor.  Finally, Oct 23 was magical girl... which I want to redo. I don't like that design at all.  Forgot to add shading to this page too.

Paper Doll Collaberation Project Vampire Masquarde

I have today off for Nevada Day, sad that it isn't on Halloween this year.  Can't believe it's the end of October already! Midterms in school right now, super busy!  Anyway, the theme for this month is Masquerade/Vampire.  The cape was inspired by Victorian Fancy Dress, particularity of a bat, .like this one.  I made the overall outfit more modern and pretty stereotypical of the vampire Halloween costumes. I always imagine vampires more conservative and covered up, still sexy but not reveling much skin, hence the gloves and long dress.  I've had lots of fun Collaborating on this project, it's great to see everyone design a the end of the month.

Halloween Doll

Might try to add more Halloween Costumes costumes for this doll later.  For now, she has a Snow White costume. Any ideas for outfits?  I was thinking Red Ridding Hood and Little Bo Peep but I'm up for suggestions.

Quick Halloween Paper Doll in color

My mom in Prismacolor Pencils (limit 12 colors)

Ink shading

Colored by Me with Prismacolor Pencils

Colored by me with Prismacolor Markers (and some Copic)
Black and White here

These are some various colored versions of the above black and white doll.  As you can see, I used a few different mediums.  My mom also wanted to color so her version is here too.  The paper I printed on is a slight off white, so it scans in a bit odd.  May try to color using Photoshop and Illustrator as well.  If you share a colored version of this paper doll with me, I will post it here along with your name.  Email a jpg or png along with the subject "Halloween Coloring" be sure to include your name.  Kids, get permission from your parents before sending anything.

I've also decided to name this witch, Hazel.

inktober witch part 2

Can you believe this month is about half over!  Above are two more pages for inktober paper doll. here.  Page 1 includes Socialite, I always imaging someone in a sharp cutting edge of fashion suit.  Seamstress I tried to make a human pincushion.  Blood witch.  And lolita witch wearing a cute pumpkin dress with ruffles and bows.  I also added in a broom and a cauldron bag that can go with different outfits. Page two includes a Wicked Witch, inspired by Raven Queen from Ever after High.  Sun witch, inspired by Sun Goddess Barbie. Candy witch, inspired by Katy Perry, and Pixie witch, whose wings are a bit lopsided because I ran out of room on the page! More to come.

Vamps and Villains

So I got my newest/latest issue of OPDAG in the mail.  Issue 118 theme was Vamps and Villains.  I decided to do these two Batman ladies, since they are both Vamps and Villains. Harley Quinn 6 outfits and a 'hat', all of these are from various video games, cartoons and movies.  I was inspired by Bruce Timm's artwork as far as style goes. Just note before you look him up, not all of his art is safe for work.  Poison Ivy has 6 outfits, also from various movies and comics. These characters are owned by DC comics.  I used Adobe Illustrator to create the dolls.  I may add more characters later (Wonder Woman, Cat woman maybe)

Halloween Finger Puppets

Here's another Halloween Children's Page from the artist Joan Walsh Anglund.  This page features 5 finger puppet figures along with a pumpkin shaped stage. I believe this is from October 1984 or 1985.

inktober witch paper doll

Last year I did a Ball joint Lolita themed paper doll for inktober but I never posted it because I want to work on the project further.  This year I found a list of prompts here link  and decided that was the themes I wanted to use for my paper doll.  Day 1 was seasonal witch, I choose a subtle fall theme for the base, if she was colored (which I may do later) I'd imagine soft oranges, reds, and browns.  Second day was urban witch, I went for a modern girl vibe with a oversized sweater paired with a graphic crop top, short skirt, leggings and boots.  The 3rd day was Merchant/Vagabond, I decided to make a potion seller.  4th was garden witch,  I went for a homemade looking outfit.  She is holding a squash jack-o-lantern.  I accidentally skipped day 5 (realized this morning when I went to today's prompt) and did day 6 instead, which is Oracle.  I stuck with a traditional Greek Delphi inspired dress.  I tried a few techniques I haven't used before, resulting in some bleeding ink over my lines, but hey, it's practice.  More outfits will be posted about every 4 or 5 days, (until the page is full) for the rest of the month.  I encourage you to also participate in inktober,  There are lots of prompt list out there if you don't know what to draw.  Or just doodle in ink every day at least!

Quick Halloween Paper Doll

During the weekend I had a yard sale at my house.  Didn't get a lot of traffic or make much money, but I did had out a few sheets of the doll above.  This Halloween themed paper doll was drawn in a day.  She has 4 costumes, a princess, a witch, a fairy, and Arabian princess like Jasmine (or a genie).  She has a witch hat with wig, a princess crown with wig and a hair jewel to match the Arabian outfit.  Her base costume is a Wonder Woman super hero inspired suit.  I have like 4 colored versions of this, since I had not much to do while sitting around at my yard sale.  I'll post those later.  Maybe if I get time, I will do a boy as well to hand out at Halloween.  But it's also Inktober and I'm trying to keep up with that.

Send Love to Las Vegas

I live in Las Vegas, if you don't know...  I am safe.  The events last night are truly heart breaking. Ever since 9/11 I've always been afraid something like this would happen here, especially on the strip. With such crowds of people, and events almost every night, I felt it was just a matter of time before the city became a target. I had hoped it would never happen. I am saddened to hear it finally did. My heart go out to all those affected and prayers to the families who lost loved ones. We're all asking why, I'm not sure we'll ever know.  I don't usually post personal stuff on this blog, but when a tragedy hits home, I feel it's my responsibility.
