Dolly Dingles Little Friend Tottie

Here's an adorable friend of Dolly Dingle drawn by Grace G. Drayton for the 1926 September Issue of Pictorial Review.  I am missing her dog, extra shoes, and the coat that matches the blue hat.  I will be posting more Dolly Dingle and friends soon.

OPDAG Newsletter Issue 3

Marianne Anderson

Jeannine Gliwski and Gay Curran

Bonnie Guzenda

Elizabeth Nygaand
Here are a few paper dolls from the 3rd OPDAG Newsletter published in Winter 1985.  This issue included some red with the black and white, on the cover and centerfold (not shown).  I have several more issues of OPDAG's Newsletter (before it was changed to Paper Doll Studios) but have not scanned in anything.  My scanner is being difficult at the moment.

Nurse Paper Doll

Here is another paper doll I designed for Halloween using nurse costumes.  I included a vintage nurse, candy striper, and scrubs nurse as well as other costumes.  This set has 6 dresses (not including the one the doll is wearing), an extra hair style and two extra pairs of shoes/stockings.  I used Adobe Illustrator. I used this image for the refrence for the base of the paper doll model.  If I have time (which I don't think I will) I may do one more, perhaps a vampire, before Halloween.

Novi Star mannequin

Winter Gear mannequin

Galactic Gown mannequin
These two paper cutouts are from the Novi Stars fashion packs.  I think they would make excellent paper doll bases.  Monster High doll outfits also come with cardboard characters but I do not own any Monster High fashion packs.  I bought the outfits on clearance at Walmart for about 5 dollars each.  I really love the Winter Gear outfit but the Galactic Gown was super hard to put onto a Novi Stars doll.  There is one other outfit featuring a cardboard Una Verse called Space Dreamer and it Pj's but I do not own it.

OPDAG Newsletter Number 2 1984

Judy Johnson

Bonnie Gurzenda

Peggy Jo Rosamond
I recently acquired several back issues of OPDAG's Newsletter before the name was changed to Paper Doll Studios. These paper dolls are from the 2nd Issue.  All of the Newsletters are black and white, a few with a colored page.  The newsletters include tips and tricks for paper doll artist and other interesting information written by members.  I plan on scanning in more issues, but my scanner is currently acting up.

Italian Kitchen

A lovely paper doll by Donald Hendricks.  Unfortunately, this artist passed away earlier this year.  This doll was from his website Legacy paper dolls, which is no longer up.  This doll reminds me of a Ballerina, with bright fall like colors.

Betty Field

This is a lovely set from Saalfield featuring the star Betty Field.  This is a set that looks stunning uncut because of all the small detail illustrations. It includes two dolls and 8 pages of clothing.  From 1943, reproductions of this set are available for sale.

Novi Star Design sketches

Here are a few fashion sketches I've done featuring  Novi Stars doll inspired models.  The concepts are not complete, just ideas for outfits and hairstyles.

witch halloween paper doll

So here's a quick Halloween paper doll I designed using Adobe Illustrator.  I used this photo for the model.  I included classic witch, candy corn witch, Wizard of Oz witch, and pumpkin witch.  I may design a few more paper dolls for Halloween (nurse, vampire, zombie?) if I have time.

Betty Grable 1941

these pages were too fragile to scan so I took a photo instead

Here's a lovely 2 doll set of the celebrity Betty Grable from 1941 made by Whitman.  It includes lovely photos of her, which usually are missing from cut sets.  There are two uncut sheets of clothing but the paper is so fragile, I did not want to put into my scanner so I took photos of these pages instead.  This set has some hats, accessories, and shoes but may be missing items.
