So while in the fabric store the other day, I came across an intresting product. Wallies vinyl decal featuring two dress up dolls. I am pretty sure these are from vintage McCalls magazine but does not say Betsy McCall anywhere on the product.

The website also has a very cute doll house decal as well.

Vintage magazine ad Paper Dolls/ Naming Contest
Here are two women cut out from a vintage lingerie ad(?). I am planing on designing a wardrobe for these since I think they would make perfect paper dolls. These are from the late 40s or early 50s. I've put up a poll to help pick names for these two, so please vote.

How to Draw and Paint Children
proportions |
Here are some scanned pages from How to Draw and Paint Children by Viola French published by Walter T Foster. The book is too large for my scanner so I used my portable scanner to scan the pages. Not all the pages are scanned. I do not know the date this was published, Amazon says 1986 but the artist died in 1978. The book features babies, children of various ages, faces, hands, and many other helpful references. Also, the book is fairly inexpensive.

Ningyo
Here is a beautiful 2 page paper doll from Dolls magazine, September 2015. I always ponder subscribing to Dolls Magazine, just for the paper doll. However, it seems someone at my library likes to donate their copies, so I usually just buy it there! Diane E Vining is the artist. I noticed the website listed does not work.

New Layout Design
I've been messing with the layout settings to find a style I like for the blog, so it might be changing a lot. New background picture designed by me using scraps from my collection. Will be adjusting settings until I find something that fits perfectly. If there is something you do not like, please let me know and I can try to adjust the settings.
