A Dancing Santa
Another paper doll page I don't have much information on. This is a copy from what I assume is a magazine (Jack and Jill I believe. Dancing Santa is a pantin/jumping jack style paper doll. This was made by Fred Orfe. This copy is all red but I do not know for sure if the original was like that. Text says:
Glue this page on heavy paper and let dry. Cut out pieces and join loosely at dots with two-pronged metal fasteners. Tie a loop of thread loosely between the "X's" on arms, and another between those on legs. Tie a long string between the loops as shown; let the end hang. pull this string to make Santa dance.

So this is a set that I've always wanted since seeing it in a guide book. The baby is absolutely beautiful! so now I have two sets, this one cut and one uncut. The uncut one seemed harder to scan so I scanned this set. note the baby carriage on the bottom was a bit too big for my scanner. This is the cover for the set. This paper doll is by Queen Holden and dates 1938. Its called New Baby Nancy (not to confused with other Baby Nancy). It is from Whitman publishing and is #994 (I believe...) The baby doll is quite big at around 9.5 inches tall. This cut set has 11 beautifully rendered baby outfits along with some bibs, two coats and a blanket. Some of the accessories that came with my cut set I'm pretty sure ARE NOT from this set (as noted) and I will sort it out later.

Mystery Santa
So I have bought some lots and collections that have come with copies of paper dolls. This one above is such a paper doll. It is very small but I scanned it at 600 dpi and then cropped it down. This is a black and white Santa Clause paper doll of unknown origin. Perhaps from a coloring book or a web page (though no url was on it) He has his Santa suit and workshop outfit along with PJ's/thermals that he's wearing.

Child Life
Your Dress and Dolly's, this single page is dated December 1925 and features a darling girl holding a book She has two outfits, A dress with wreath and a coat with gift. Paper has discolored from age.
Text reads:
Carol has a dainty new frock in which to sing her Christmas songs. It is made of chiffon and has adorable sleeves that form a wide panel down the front. Pleats each side of the panel give it fullness and style.
There is nothing like having a gay little cretonne dress to wear when making holly wreaths or when helping Mother decorate the house at Christmas time. The occasion is not marred by having to be careful, for cretonne is very kind to spots, both large and small.
Of course, there will be packages to deliver and Carol just loves to do this. It does not surprise us when she has such a pretty coat to wear. You would not believe the collar, cuffs and hat to match were made from Mother's old-fashioned barrel muff. You can wera this coat and these frocks , too for Mother can make them from CHILD LIFE patterns.
Carol wishes everyone a Merry Christmas with A CHILD LIFE pattern in every stocking and a Happy New Year with a CHILD LIFE pattern for them each month.
Pattern No. 5099, 4 sizes: 2, 4, 6, and 8 years
Pattern No. 5173, 4 sizes: 4, 6, 8, and 10 years
Pattern No. 5028, 4 sizes: 4, 6, 8, and 10 years
We are always delighted to answer any questions Mother may care to ask, if she will send a stamped, self-addressed envelope to CHILD LIFE Pattern Department, care Rand McNally & Company. 536 S. Clark Street Chicago.
What an ad! I love that Mother is captialized! Cretonne is a type of cotton fabric ( I had to look it up).
Well I'm back and will try to post more often but holidays can be busy.

Gabriel Peggy
This paper doll is from Samuel Gabriel sons and Co. She is D121 Babyland Peggy (20th Century Paper Dolls Mary Young pg 129) however, she has winking/closing eye mechanism controlled by a bow on her head, so the number may be different. I believe she has all of her outfits, four in total but may be missing a hat (she has three). She is missing her envelope. Date 1921.

Inktober continues
More inktober outfits! Day 8th was sports so I did a cheerleader, another mix and match option. October 9th was vintage/historical, I went with a 1920's flapper dress with feather headdress on short bob hairstyle and some t strap shoes. The next page is day 10 and 11, (though I forgot to number them) day 10 was doll/toy theme. I did a ball joint inspired design with a baby-doll dress. Last is ghost them I did a blood stained gown with a Japanese ghost inspired wig/hairstyle. her feet are supposed to be covered in blood. (inspired by Paper Thin Personas great ghost doll http://paperthinpersonas.com/2019/10/10/ghost-paper-doll/ )
