Patty and Peter

This black and white page is from Children's Activities magazine and is dated December 1941.  This page is meant to be colored.  There are two children, Patty and Peter.  Patty has 3 outfits and a hat and peter has 3 outfits and a hat as well.  The text reads

On Christmas morning Patty and Peter ran downstairs in their pajamas to see if Santa has visited them.
Sure enough! There were many toys and new clothes under their beautiful Christmas tree.
They played with their toys for a while.  Then they ran upstairs to get dressed.
Patty put on her pretty red dress.  Peter put on his new green sweater and brown trousers.
After dinner they dressed up in their warm, woolly outdoor clothes and went calling on their friends.
What a happy day they had!

Your Dress and Dolly's

This single sheet paper doll is from Child Life magazine.  The doll has two dresses, one salmon color with black bow and peter pan color and the other a light pink with floral print detail.  she is wearing a green dress with black shoes paired with white socks.  she is holding a pink purse and a small bouquet of flowers.  Her brown hair is short with a flip and a black bow.  The design are from Chiquet and available as patterns to buy at the time.  This is dated June 1930.

The text reads:

Beth is ready for her first party and expects to have a wonderful time! If a pretty frock will help, she will indeed.  It is made of crepe de chine with a high waist, scalloped skirt, and a bateau neck.

But one cannot always be dressed for parties, so for less festive occasions Beth has two other dresses- a flowered crepe with a round yolk which extends in the front and forms a panel and a handkerchief linen with pleats in the front and back for fullness, a round collar and a perky bow, just the thing for joyful romps.  Are your dresses ready for the happy June days?
These patterns will help you if they are not.

then it list the patterns and sizes and years ect.  Patterns were just 20 cents!

Jane Arden's Wardrobe

Here is a newspaper panel from Jane Arden's Wardobe. The paper has discolored and at some point the page had been folded over right on her face!  She has 4 outfits; a blue dress with flower and ribbon, a yellow dress with buttons and pocket along with matching yellow shoes, a white nautical dress with skirt under and a small white hat to match., a white top with mustard pair of pants and matching  hat. Jane is shown in profile with her dark hair in a bun.  This is dated 8-22-1937.  I try to keep track of which ones I've posted but I'm not always sure.
