Christmas in july?  Here is a scrap of Santa wrapping paper with paper doll outfits. No idea the maker or year. 

For you Granddaugter a Walking Doll

One last walking doll for the Christmas season.  This one says inside "You're a precious granddaughter. A little sweetheart, too, that's why this walking Christmas doll has come to play with you! Merry Christmas Honey! Instructions on back,"   "Insructions: Carefully tear off back page and punch out walking wheel,  Open doll's skirt at the bottom and bend up the two tabs on the back of her skirts.  Push tabs through the holes in the walking wheel, then bend the tabs back to fasten the wheel to the doll.  To make her walk, hold her at the side and push her gently along the rug  Have fun with your doll." For a Fine Boy A Walking Santa

Here's Holly Berry Because You're Such a Sweet Girl

 

This card has a jointed doll with arms and legs that use brads to attach them to the head on the front.  It even includes brads! It reads "Here's a walking, running doll Whose name is Holly Berry- Sure hope she helps you have a day That's extra specially merry! Merry Christmas!" "Instructions: 1. Punch out all the pieces. Insert one brad through hole in Holly Berry's collar, then through hole in her longer arm and through the hole at the top of her robe.  Keep the long arm to your left and insert the same brad through the other arm,  Fold back brad prongs. 2. Insert second brand through hole in the bottom of robe, then through hole in the middle of legs.  Fold back brad prongs.  3. Now make Holly Berry Walk and move her arms." Gibson play card from 1974?

For a Special Granddaughter A Dress Up Barbie Paper Doll

 

   This holiday card features Barbie of Mattel fame.  She has four pages of clothing, all real Barbie outfits,  I was surprised, however, that she lacks the holiday dress that is pictured on the front of the card.  The front of the card and the doll are embossed. This is from Ambassador cards (owned by Hallmark) and is dated 1995. The inside of the card says "Barbie brought some outfits, And she's hoping what you'll do Is press out her clothes carefully and try them on her, too! Hope it's fun to dress her up In all her brand-new clothes, and hope you know, Granddaughter, That you're loved from head to toes!" "Happy Holidays with Love!" "Instructions: with scissors cut out rectangular doll stand along pink lines and fold in the middle. Press out Barbie along perforated lines. Stand Barbie upright by inserting her into slits of the stand. Press out clothes along perforated lines. Have fun!"

Have a Holly Polly Christmas

 

This Christmas card was inspired by Bluebird toys mini Polly Pocket figure doll.  She has 4 festive outfits along with 3 pairs of shoes and 3 hair accessories.  There are two cards per page.  When printing, cut in half horizontally and trim edges.  Fold the card in half  vertically and write on the blank inside.  Enjoy and have a happy holiday season. Do not scale prints

Santa Claus Cutout

 

This magazine page is from Jack and Jill and featurese a jointed Santa Claus cutout pantin.  This style of doll requires some paper brads to allow the joints to move.  The date of this is December 1962 and the artist is Irma Wilde. I included the front and back scan of the page.  Happy holidays everyone

Ballerina' Bethany

 

I do not have a date for this magazine other than Holiday 1992. Artist is Theresa Borelli The text  reads " Christmas just wouldn't be Christmas without the Nutcraker, and this year Ballerina Bethany is dancing the lead role. Mom and dad are so proud, they had a toy design a wooden Nutcracker, a stuffed mouse king and  a porcelain doll of the Chinese and Spanish Dancer to present to Bethany opening night. Oh how surprised she will be!"

Cut Outs for children

 

This very old newspaper isn't dated but I'm guessing lat 1920s to mid 1930s.  This one is most likely from December, given the theme.  I wanted to save it for the holiday season! The man has two Santa coats, one with a bag of toys and one with a tree and a pair of matching pants along with a hat/beard.  There's a little doll who has one outfit and hat as well.  This fragile newspaper advises to paste on cardbe before cutting (cardboard?) 

Happy Holiday Card 2020

 

So I keep telling myself to color this, but christmas is just a few days away, so at least I'm posting the black and white version!  She's meant to be a ballerina/ice skater (I haven't finished the ice skating outfits).  It folds in half and you can write whatever you want on the 'inside' of the card.  Have a happy holiday season everyone and stay safe!

Santa Bear

Christmas in July?  Enjoy this single page Santa Bear and miss mouse by Peggy Jo Rosamond.  I only have the one page which has a bear with one outfit and a mouse with one outfit.  I may be missing a second page.  I believe this is from a magazine, but don't have any information about it.  Dated 1986

Mystery Santa

So I have bought some lots and collections that have come with copies of paper dolls. This one above is such a paper doll.  It is very small but I scanned it at 600 dpi and then cropped it down.  This is a black and white Santa Clause paper doll of unknown origin.  Perhaps from a coloring book or a web page (though no url was on it)  He has his Santa suit and workshop outfit along with PJ's/thermals that he's wearing.

Child Life

Your Dress and Dolly's, this single page is dated December 1925 and features a darling girl holding a book  She has two outfits, A dress with wreath and a coat with gift.  Paper has discolored from age. 

Text reads:

  Carol has a dainty new frock in which to sing her Christmas songs.  It is made of chiffon and has adorable sleeves that form a wide panel down the front.  Pleats each side of the panel give it fullness and style. 
  There is nothing like having a gay little cretonne dress to wear when making holly wreaths or when helping Mother decorate the house at Christmas time.  The occasion is not marred by having to be careful, for cretonne is very kind to spots, both large and small.
  Of course, there will be packages to deliver and Carol just loves to do this.  It does not surprise us when she has such a pretty coat to wear. You would not believe the collar, cuffs and hat to match were made from Mother's old-fashioned barrel muff.  You can wera this coat and these frocks , too for Mother can make them from CHILD LIFE patterns.
  Carol wishes everyone a Merry Christmas with A CHILD LIFE pattern in every stocking and a Happy New Year with a CHILD LIFE pattern for them each month.

What an ad!  I love that Mother is captialized! Cretonne is a type of cotton fabric ( I had to look it up).

My second Christmas season paper doll this year, and in color!  This doll was inspired by this card on pinterest here.  She has 10 outfits, all with matching hats/head wear including a Santa suit, an Angel costume and a Christmas tree dress along with some caroling garb and warm winter coats.  This will be my last post until Christmas is over. 

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays card

This year I designed this card, inspired by a certain famous fashion doll and her holiday outfits.  The first page is the front cover and back of the card with the second page placed on the back side of the first, with each  of the other pages on top of it (does that make sense!?).  It would be folded in the middle and stapled together. She has 9 full outfits and 3 bottoms for the outfit she is wearing, along with 3 pairs of shoes, 7 hair pieces, a few purses and lots of tiny accessories.  The inside reads "Warmest thoughts and best wishes for a joyful holiday season.  May your days be filled with magic and cheer!" with enough room to sign and leave a message of your own.  I don't know if I will have time to color this, I'm working on another paper doll as well right now!

For You Nana at Christmas

I don't collect Christmas cards... but I found this one at a store last year and had to have it!  This adorable card is from American Greeting.  No date.  The front says For you Nana at Christmas with a darling illustration of a little girl caroling, she has a flocked outfit.  Inside the card is another drawing of the little girl on the left, under it is written PS where's my bag of cookies Nana, huh?  The right side has the saying "Wishing you a Christmas day that you'll spend happily 'cause you're the nicest Nana there ever, ever could be!" and it is signed.

Mary Christmas

This cute 2 page paper doll set is from Sew Beautiful Magazine, dated Holiday 1991 (probably a special issue/December) It features a lovely girl with 4 outfits and hats.  Her bear has 2 outfits as well. The artist is Theresa Borelli.  The doll is named Mary and was born on Christmas

Posable Holiday Elf

I created this two page posable pantin paper doll last year for Doll Castle News November December 2017 issue. The doll has interchangeable parts, including 3 head styles, 3 sets of hands, and 3 sets of feet along with an extra page of clothing, hats, and accessories. inspired by the classic knee hugger/posable shelf sitting elf dolls.  Included here is the colored version and black and white. You will need 13 small brads to assemble the puppet.

Father Christmas Paper Doll

This two page paper doll is by Sandy Williams and features Father Christmas with 3 outfits.  This is dated 1981 but I don't know much about it.  It's black and white, with descriptive text under each outfit.
