Drawtober Attempt 2026

 

I started the prompts late this year and wasn't sure how much I wanted to commit or spend on this project. This paper doll base that was used for a few other paper dolls (Apron Alice and modified for Draculaura) and I created lolita inspired clothing that I felt matched each prompt subject. I tried to label the reference dresses but some of my text layers got lost. Below two pages are not specifically tied to the Intober/Drawtober prompt list but will fit the base here so I am including them. Uncolored black and white and I do not think I will color this. I have another few projects planned using the same base that may be colored. (If I ever finish). The Guro JSK dress is from guro lolita subgenre which involves blood and gore elements, so proceed with caution if you wish to explore it. JSK means jumper skirt and refers to a type of garment in lolita that is usually worn with a blouse under while OP means one-piece.

Mrs. Frizzle Halloween

 

Happy Halloween. For this I used the paper doll I designed and modified it for the holiday.  The character from the Magic School bus series Mrs. Frizzle.  This character was created by Joanne Cole and originally illustrated by Bruce Degan. The book series was published by Scholastic Company and the TV series was on PBS. The bases are from the different versions, TV to the left and book to the right.  The fashions are designed for the holiday and the dress with bats is from the Episode "Goes Batty" I plan on doing more outfits from the books and TV series.  Please note this is fan art and I do not claim to own this character, just adapting it into a paper doll. Each doll can wear the outfits and shoes.  Each doll has an earring as well, that can be placed by cutting a small slit near the hairline and pushing the tab in. For the vampire cape, tuck the collar behind the doll's head and the white tabs on the dress behind the knees.

The Littles Colorform Play Set

 

This Colorform play-set from 1980 features the Littles which were tiny dolls from Mattel. The set includes a house and Colorform plastic stickers to decorate the rooms

This set is on very fragile card paper which is brittle from age. Three dolls and outfits (1920s or 30s era) unsure if all the dolls go together as the style is different

This advertisement paper doll features a bear for A No 1 Trademark (seems like general goods) I forgot to scan the backs. like many of these types, the doll was offered as a giveaway in exchange for labels from products.
