Maxine and Mable

Here is my slow progress on Maxine (dark hair) and Mable (blonde hair) dolls.  the base was part of a vintage set called Press Board dolls and Their clothes, but I only have one doll plus a doll without a head so I decided to make some outfits for them.  I named the two dolls after my grandmothers.  The original art was by Fern Bistel Peat.  I've started coloring and touching up the clothes but I am nowhere near finished and haven't worked on this project in a long time. 

Mary Ann Grows Up

Mary Ann Grows Up is by Fern Bisel Peat and a variation on Eight Ages of Judy.  This set has six dolls representing a different age of childhood. It is published by Samuel Lowe 1943.  It is a cut set and may be missing pieces.  Another variation of this set is Baby Buggy here.  Also a box set variation Press Board Dolls and Their Clothes which I only have the dolls for can be seen here (number 3) doll base.  Next post I will post the outfits I designed for the base dolls.  I also need to start working on a Halloween Doll so if you have any ideas, please let me know.

Good Sports

Just received the latest issue of Paper Doll Studio Issue 106 in the mail.  The theme was "Good Sports" and this was my entry (top color version).  I think I went a little overboard with some of the Photoshop filters.  The next issue is Queens and I have a few things sketched out.

Natalie Wood 1957

Here's a paper doll of  the star Natalie Wood from 1957.  It includes two heavy card stock dolls.
