Fashion Illustration Techniques

These are scans from the book Fashion Illustration Techniques by Zeshu Takamura published by Graphic-sha Publishing co 2007.  Personally I liked the step by step instructions in this book but I did not care for any of the clothing, I felt it was a bit flat and kinda boring.  I would recommend checking it out from a local library before buying to see if it fits a need.  I used my borrowed portable scanner and some of the pages are a little wavy looking.  I am still working on how to fix this.   Next post will actually be paper dolls!

Warning (again?)  the models have some mild nudity in this book.

Century of fashion (part 2)

As promised, a few more pages from the book "Century of Fashion" which features sewing pattern illustrations.  The book is published by Schiffer and written by Alice I. Duff.

Century of Fashion

These are a few pages from the book "A Century of Fashion Dress Pattern Illustrations, 1898-1997."  I think this book is an excellent reference for paper doll bases and outfits.  I may post a few more pages featuring some great vintage clothing.  I used my borrowed portable scanner to scan the pages of this book and it worked fairly well but a few pages look a little 'curved'.  This book was published by Shiffer and the author is Alice I. Duff.  I checked it out from the Inter Library Loan System.

Flower Fairies Paper Doll

A very lovely set from Penguin Group publishing 2005. I love the front and back designs for the dolls and dresses.  The detail and coloring on these dolls is very beautiful.
