Paper Doll Collaberation 2018 February Date Night

Base
The theme for the month of February was date night, inspired by Valentine's Day.  The first dress is based on a real dress that of course I can't find a picture of now.  The other dress I imagine in a blush/pink or maybe champagne color and is inspired by vintage lace dresses.  I don't actually dress up to go on a date but I've always liked the idea of wearing something fancy to go out to dinner.  I created  a pair of shoes to go with the short dress and a little hair heart.  Also a box of chocolates, of course, my favorite Valentine's gift!

Jane Arden's Wardrobe

This single page newspaper paper doll is from 2-23-1941.  I can't believe Feburary is almost over!  It's cold here too! *unusual for Vegas*  The doll has 4 outfits and one hat.  Love that top left one, looks very patriotic.

Fu Mei Ling

Happy Chinese New Year!  This year is the year of the Dog.  I'll admit I don't have many paper dolls from China or depicting Chinese people.  I found this one, it's from an old Children's Playmate magazine dated September 1942.  The  single page paper doll is Fu Mei Ling drawn by the artist Fern Bisel Peat.  Note the doll has costumes for a girl and a boy, how wonderful.  The doll has traditional costumes along with hats.  Fern Bisel Peat also drew the cover of this issue.
