Ming Poy of China

This single page paper doll is from children's Playmate magazine but I don't have a date for it.  Her name is Ming Poy and she is from China.  She has five outfits and two hats.  I believe this is Fern Bisel Peat as the artist, but it is not marked.

Mutli- Head Paper Dolls

This is a cut set that is incomplete.  It is called Multi-Head Paper Dolls and was published by McLaughlin company 1933.  the number is 542.  The boy style has two bodies and six heads and the girl style has two bodies and six heads.  I have three outfits for the girl and three outfits for the boy.  The outfits slip into the slits on the neck, as do the heads.

October Children's playmate magazine paper dolls

Shown here is the cover and the two paper doll pages inside the October 1941 issue of Children's Playmate.  The cover art and paper dolls are from the artist Fern Bisel Peat.  The paper dolls feature a boy named Gene who dresses up like Little Boy Blue and his sister named Jane who dresses up like Little Bo Peep.  I meant to post this around Halloween but forgot to and by the next Halloween I'll probably forget again!

Tillie Cutouts

I'm going to try and 'schedule' a blog post, I've never done it before, so we'll see how it goes.  If it works, I may put some newspaper sheets on the schedule for Sundays, since they came out on Sundays. This one is Tillie Cutouts with a doll and a floral print dress. The date is written on as 10-20-1946.

Leading Ladies

This set is from the Saalfield publishing company and is called Leading Ladies.  These four ladies don't have names but the clothing is marked with either an L or a D.  so I named them, Lana and Laura and Diana and Deborah.  this is a cut set and is not complete.  a few outfits are damaged.  the brown coat and green pencil skirt should be one piece but have been cut in half. 

Little Brother Little Sister

This set is by Queen Holden and features 6 dolls, three boys and three girls.  It is called Little Brother, Little Sister, so it's easy to confuse with other sets of similar names.  The girls are named Jean, Joan, and Patsy (names she uses in other sets as well) and the boys are named David, Tommy and Bobby.  I'm not sure who is supposed to be related to who, maybe they are all siblings?  The blonde looks like Shirley Temple a bit. This one is from Whitman 1938 and the number is #966.  I believe these dolls were redrawn for other sets.  The paper is fragile from age and a bit musty, some clothing is a bit damaged and the dolls have issues as well. The set was a bit too large for 8.5x11 paper size, so I scanned it at legal size. Not sure if set is complete.
