Wedding Cards

a Doehla Fine Arts Card Made in USA

Please Come! Greetings Inc L331 Made in USA

Hallmark 10 GE436-2 copyright Hall Brothers Inc

Hallmark 10 W4-4 copyright Hall Brothers Inc

I've been collecting vintage wedding cards in hopes of displaying or using them somehow in my own wedding.  Maybe place mats? Or table numbers?  Or banners?  I love the old artwork, especially brides and grooms.  I don't care if the cards have been signed, as long as the card is in good condition with nice colors and no rips or tears.  I've also collected some anniversary and wedding shower cards that fit the bridal theme.

Easter Paper doll

I'll admit, this year I am lazy.  above is a single page Easter doll designed by me.  I borrowed the outfits from a old Betsy McCall paper doll and edited them.  Colored with colored pencil on top and black and white lines on bottom.  Name?  What should she be named?  Hope everyone has a Happy Easter.

Mr. and Mrs. Troll

back
Here are two magazine pages from Children's Playmate Magazine dated 07 1939.  The art is by Fern Bisel Peat.  Mr and Mrs Troll look pretty cute for trolls.  The lady has 3 outfits with two hats. The man has 3 outfits, a jacket and 3 hats along with a neckerchief/scarf.  I scanned the art of one of the back of the pages, which features a lovely illustration also by Fern Bisel Peat

This two page paper doll is by Karen Reilly and features a Lenci doll with 3 dresses and 2 hats along with an adorable dog.  Scanned from inside the magazine, I may try to just remove it and scan it again for better edges.  The dress on the first page is green and white with a slanted checkered board pattern and matching hat.  The edges of the page are decorated with a gardening motif including pots, seed packets, and garden tools.  Her outfits on the second page include a blue dress holding beautiful spring flowers and a basket along with matching hat and a second outfit with a sorta sailor school style in pink with a watering can. This is from May 2006 of Doll Reader Magazine.

Feathered Splendor

No internet at home for the last few days, so bit late posting anything.  Above is not quite a paper doll but a cut out set featuring birds.  I believe this are from Good Housekeeping magazine and have a written date of March 1968.

Future Fashion

This month's theme for the paper doll collaboration project is Future Fashion.  I was very inspired by Retro future, like Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers and the Jetsons cartoon.  I love geometric shapes in futuristic designs. I image these outfits in metallic colors with bright neon accents, maybe holographic print. I designed the hair to look like it was floating, it would be some bright unconventional color, perhaps a galaxy purple?  My lines aren't as neat this month, I do not currently have access to my drawing tablet.

The doll and her outfits can be found here http://missmissypaperdolls.blogspot.com/search?q=paper+doll+collaberation
