and
PopCulturePaperDolls. I had the honor of creating the doll base. I always have a stack of 'base' ideas lying around and choose one for this years project. I used Adobe Illustrator to slightly redesign the base, in hopes she could be posed in various ways. Of course the base has a heavy anime influence and it's wonderful to see how each collaborators adjust this base to fit their own unique style. For the outfits, yes I did two pages of clothing! I got a bit carried away. The first sheet features Princess and the Frog and Sleeping Beauty. I'll admit, neither is my 'favorite' fairy tale per the story but I love old vintage costumes and the 'pointy' princess hat. The next sheet is Cinderella inspired, along with her rags outfit and a Rococo inspired dress. I've spent more time on these then usual, as to fill a New Years Resolution of finishing projects early and cleanly.

Love all the 'extra' clothes. Glad you're doing another collaboration, they're so fun! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteOh my niece would have loved this 10 years ago when she was in her anime phase. AND yes you are not alone with those of us who have taken the New Year vow to remove all UFO's (unfinished objects) from our arts/crafts/sewing/quilting rooms. So far you have me beat. BTW Princess and the Frog is my fav so far.
ReplyDeleteWow. You went way above and beyond! I love the draping on the Princess and The Frog dress.
ReplyDeleteI like how Cinderella has both a tattered outfit and a ballgown!
