Advertisement Dolls

 

Here are a few double sided trading card type paper dolls the dolls can share clothing. These were unmarked from any particular brand. But the idea is that a vendor could put their own advertisement text on the inside of the dolls and an incentive to buy more product to get more dolls and outfits.They fold in half and the outfits usually fold over the head or wrap around

Here are a few sets of lion premium paper doll figures scanned front and back. The back has advertisment for the brand and states what is included in the set. The sets are: Mary had a little Lamb, The Nursery and The Laundry/  The last two are part of a doll House which each set would be a different room. 

Faux Friends Paper Doll Ad

Sadly this paper doll set would not actually function very well.  Featured is a two page spread of Friends Stars Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox with outfit ideas.  The outfits are scaled too small however you could always make your own stylish wardrobe for the two women. This is from Cosmopolitan Magazine 1998 October.

Newspaper ad paper doll with three photo girls and swimsuit designs.  This is from Barbie magazine.  No date.

krumbles

 Around the world cut out dolls from Kellogg's Krumbles cereal.  This is Switzerland.  It has a boy and girl, each with two costumes and a hat.  the text reads "Franz and Minna like their climbing costume for there are many mountains in Switzerland.  Franz is learning to yodel as all Swiss do.  They wear the other costumes on Sundays and holidays.

Krumbles

Kellogg's Krumbles cereal paper doll featuring Around the World cut-out dolls.  This one is from Turkey.  It has a boy and a girl.  The boy has one costume and hat the girl has two costumes and headpiece. From around the 1940s.  the text on the back says "This is one of Europe's oldest countries and its noted for its unusal costumes.  children dress much like their elders only of course on a smaller scale.

Here's another paper doll from PåLægs chokolade Danish Spreads chocolate. it features a girl with 5 outfits, 3 tops and a pair of pants along with a bag and mirror. I think this is the last scan from this series that I have.

McLaughlin's XXXX Coffee

This is an advertisement paper doll from McLaughlin's XXXX Coffee.  Copyright 1894 Ottmann Lith Co NY.  She is front and back and folds in half. The inside is blank.  Clothing would slip over the doll but I do not have a dress for this one.

This is a die cut premium for McLaughlin's XXXX coffee featuring a girl wearing a red cape.  She openes her cape to reveal a cat in a muff.  There were a series of these but I'm not sure how many.  I only have the one.  From the late 1800's early 1900s 

How Teddy oiled his automobile Fels-Naptha

Here's another single page Fels-Naptha ad paper doll featuring a boy with a dirty outfit and a clean outfit.  It is a copy.  The date says 1927.  The text reads:

"Teddy was out in the garage, oiling his small automobile.  He had often seen Michael, the chauffeur, oil the big car, and he knew just how to go about it.  With the big oil-can that Michael used, and a large greasy cloth, Teddy crawled under his car, just as far as he could.  He oiled the pedals and he oiled the wheels- and he certainly oiled himself!  His clean tan suit was very dirty indeed, when he heard a voice shout- "F'r mercy's sake! Your a sight f'r the angels, Mister Teddy!  Whativer will your mother say, when she sees your nice clean suit all spoiled?" Michael looked very stern in the doorway.  "But Michael," protested Teddy, climbing to his feet "you get just like this when you oil the car."  "Tis different, me lad, for I wear overalls and me wife has a way o' washin' them clean.  Fels-Naptha Soap, she uses.  Better run in and tell your mother to have the laundress use it on your suit, mister Teddy- it'll make all the grease and dirt come out!"

'Down, Jerry, down!' said Aunt Mary sternly, for just a trace of tears glistened in Helen's eyes.  'You shouldn't say 'how-do-you-do; liek that!' 'He's made my party dress look dreadful for visiting' sniffed Helen.  'Don't you worry about that dear,' said Aunt Mary, smiling. Around the World Cut-Out Dolls

Kellogg's Krumbles was a cereal that no longer exist (as far as I know).  This is from the back of the box and features two cut out figures with traditional outfits from Holland.  There is a girl with two dresses and one hat and a boy.  The Text includes instructions and also says:

Holland is known all over the world for its windmills, tulips, and quaint children's costumes.  Here are Jan and Wilhelmina dressed in their best clothes.  Aren't they Sweet.  

This is in full color and from around the 1940s I believe.
