Mermaid

I did another mermaid paper doll for Mermay.  I tried a different technique of copying the doll base 100% and then removing/editing it into clothing rather then drawing the outfits over the base.  Then the outfits are sized up lightly.  She has four outfits and three hairstyles, some rotated to fit the page better. She is topless but nothing is shown

Betty Bo Peep

My blogger looks a little different?  Maybe it updated?  Anyway, this gorgeous set arrived in the mail yesterday and I couldn't wait to scan it!  The baby is redrawn from a few different sets such as Diaper Baby and Wee Wee Baby but I don't know if the insides are the same.  Wee Wee Baby .this one looks completely different.  I'm sad to say if punched out, she'd lose a lot of the gorgeous hair.  There are six pages of beautifully rendered clothes.  The back cover features art that looks like it may be from something else.  The publisher is Bestmaid Litho and the date I have is 1942.  the book number is 1443.

Background Wallpapers

This is a tilling background I use for the blog

So here's a fun idea! Take those mismatched outfits and sort them by color, then lay them out into fun backgrounds like the ones above.  I plan on doing more of these in the future. You could also use your favorite paper doll artist or set or use dolls

Some sketches I did on Staff Day in October of 2017.  We had some colored pencils, so the bottom ones are in color.  Some kawaii fashion designs inspired by Japanese lolitas.  Also a quick character design in two art styles, which I may resurrect later.  I'll post some more sketches I've been doing on my class notes later.  Also my Birthday is Friday!  December 1st!  So maybe I'll have time to do a birthday paper doll. (maybe not, final projects for school!)

Barbie Sparkling Paper Doll Activity

2 dresses, purple and pink, 3 tops, pink and green and 2 skirts light and dark blue

front of the box, Barbie is behind a plastic see through cutout

Barbie, wearing pink dress with orange sandles

15 purses,2 tops orange red and teal, 1 skirt in pink

2 dresses, pink and reddish orange, 2 skirts pink and dark pink, 3 tops red/orange and purple

Christie?  wearing blue with yellow/green neon shoes

2 dress red and blue, 2 skirts pink and purple, 2 tops dark red and light pink

Teresa? wearing purple with red shoes
This box set of paper dolls includes 3 Barbie characters with magnetic outfits.  The outfits each have magnetic squares attached to the back of the clothing. The clothing punches out and does not need to be cut.  The dolls are pre-cut thick cardboard.  The outfits have a glitter foil on the details.  This product was made by Tara Toy Corp with licensing from Mattel and is ©2011.  I did not scan the stands because they are white and did not show up very well.  The dolls cannot share outfits, which was disappointing design.  There are 4 pages of clothing, 1 for each doll and an extra with lots of purses.

Dainty Squid Blogger Paper Doll

http://www.thedaintysquid.com/

So a while ago I stumbled across a blog called The Dainty Squid by Kaylah. (link above).  I was very inspired by her "What I Wore" posts and asked if I could do a paper doll inspired by her posts and fashions.  Kaylah thankfully agreed, and here is the result above.  As you may notice, her hair color changes often, which I love.  I gave her 6 outfits and 5 hairstyles, all from references from her blog posts.  I wished to do more, but this took much longer then I anticipated, so I decided to wrap up this project.  I hope to do more blog fashion paper dolls, do you have a blog about fashion?  Want a paper doll? Let me know!

Lalaloopsy Paper Dolls

Charlotte Charades

Peanut Big Top
Here are two Lalaloopsy paper dolls I've designed.  These were featured in the Circus Issue of OPDAG's Paper Doll Studios Issue 104. These are based on the MGA dolls.  Charlotte Charades is a mime and Peanut Big Top is a clown.  I've designed a few pages of these but I still have a lot of characters to finish, especially since MGA is always adding to the line.  These were created using Adobe Illustrator.  I feel the layout is a little cluttered because I tried to get all the outfits to fit on one page.  Also, 700th post.

Christmas Doll

So a little late... lol.  Here is my Christmas doll.  She has 5 outfits, most with shoes and hair accessories.  The fonts I used are from dafont.com http://www.dafont.com/vintage-christmas.font and http://www.dafont.com/santas-sleigh.font

I used reference for the outfits and dolls from vintage doll catalog pages. I may add some more outfits in the future.
