Sears Catalog Doll

I created this doll by modifying outfits from the Sears catalog Spring and Summer 1957.  It's not perfect by any means but was a fun project to try.  I may make more of these catalog dolls in the future.  Not sure how well her hats will stay on.

1929

This is what appears to be a homemade paper doll made from a magazine or catalog.  She is dated 1929 on the back of the outfits.  Afraid she's a bit damaged on the top of her head.  she has 5 outfits, though non have tabs.

American Paper Dolls

So here's a project I was working on.  I wanted to make some more clothing but I won't have time before the 4th of July.  I also didn't have time to clean up the line work.  My tablet has been a bit wobbly at line drawing.  But I wanted to post SOMETHING!  There are 8 girls, America, Truth, Freedom, Liberty, Peace, Justice, Hope and Harmony.  They should all be able to share the two pages of clothing I've designed.  There are 8 tops, 8 bottoms, 3 dresses and 6 pairs of shoes (meant to do more!)  I may use these bases in the future for other holidays.  Also trying to design some hairstyles that will fit all the dolls, but it proved to be a bit difficult.  The whole idea was to show the diverse population of America.  May design more dolls in the future.

50 days of 100

The #100 Day Project is an Instragram challenge to do something crafty each day.  So I do have an Instragram @missmissypaperdolls but I really only use it for posting things like this. Here is day 1-50.  For this project, I made two sisters inspired by vintage 1920s/1930s children's patterns like this one here.  Every day I drew an outfit or accessory for both girls so 66 dresses or 33 for each doll (if i counted right) plus shoes, hats and dolls that have outfits too. After today I will switch over to coloring the set, which will be posted on Instagram and then when it's done, I will post it here. I will aslo try to organize some of the pages better.

Mermaid

I did another mermaid paper doll for Mermay.  I tried a different technique of copying the doll base 100% and then removing/editing it into clothing rather then drawing the outfits over the base.  Then the outfits are sized up lightly.  She has four outfits and three hairstyles, some rotated to fit the page better. She is topless but nothing is shown

New Dressing Dolls

I don't know much about these two dolls. They appear very similar to Samuel Gabriel Sons My dolly Series but aren't quite the same.  The most notable difference is the doll has bows on her dress. Also I believe these are much smaller These are also marked "Comfort" Augusta, ME and may have been used for advertisement.   I have 2 dolls, (the boy is pretty beat up) along with 2 envelopes.  The boy only has one blue outfit with a hat, (uncut) and the girl has 3 outfits, 1 green 1 pink, and 1 blue.  I have 3 matching hats, and 1 extra pink which suggest there was another pink outfit.  i found this auction picture, that seems to be similar and mentions the envelope as well https://www.theriaults.com/node/25731

If anyone has additional information, please let me know.

American Colortype Company

Doll 602 Pearl and outfit 835

outfit 815 and 819
Here is an uncut paper doll from American Colortype Company along with three uncut outfits.  The outfits are number and also named.  835 is Winter Girl, 815 is Camp Fire Girl (similar to girl scouts) and 819 is Seashore Girl.  I have a few more of these somewhere but I can't seem to find them right now.

Mommy and Me

Here is a four page paper doll I've designed featuring a mother and daughter with matching outfits. Some of the dresses are more complimentary then straight up matching.  I used old ads and sewing patterns as inspiration.  It is not colored, I thought mothers and daughters would have fun coloring the pages together.  Maybe mom does the mom outfit, and daughter does the one for the little girl.  These dolls are hand drawn in pencil then lined ink.  There are 19 matching outfits for a total of 38 dresses.  There are also 3 pairs of shoes per doll.  I did 'test' the dolls and one of the mother's outfits does not fit 100%, I haven't fixed it yet.

Valentine Paper Doll

Here is a Valentine Paper Doll designed by me.  I used http://www.dafont.com/hearts-by-darrian.font and the same base as my Christmas Paper Doll http://missmissypaperdolls.blogspot.com/2015/01/christmas-doll.html  I didn't spend as much time making the outfits.  There are six dresses.  The dresses are inspired by vintage catalog doll advertisements.

Christmas Doll

So a little late... lol.  Here is my Christmas doll.  She has 5 outfits, most with shoes and hair accessories.  The fonts I used are from dafont.com http://www.dafont.com/vintage-christmas.font and http://www.dafont.com/santas-sleigh.font

I used reference for the outfits and dolls from vintage doll catalog pages. I may add some more outfits in the future.
