Captain America

I don't know much about this super hero paper dolls. It is from Courier ( or Courier Express?) newspaper. The art is by Owen McCarron and the page is called Marvelous Fun and Games.  I have a few of these pages.  This one is dated 4-22-1979 and is copyright by Marvel.  It features Steve Rogers and his alter ego Captain America.

Brenda Starr cut-outs copies

I don't personally buy copies of paper dolls, sometimes when I buy a large lot, there are copies included.  Here are several black and white full size copies of newspaper dolls Cut-Outs from the Brenda Starr comic by Dale Messick. I rotated these so the dolls could be seen better, rather then focusing on the comic page. These are from the Chicago Sunday Tribune and have various dates from 1948 to 1952.

Barbie Dress-up kit

Here's another box set from Colorforms.  This one features Barbie (living Barbie i believe) from 1970 (according to ebay).  Some pieces are missing from the set, one side of her vest, on boot, some glasses, a glove, and a belt.  It includes a pamphlet that shows how the doll can be dressed.  The text on the pamphlet reads:

Hello. I'm Barbie. Pictured here are some of my favorite outfits for school, shopping and swinging record parties.  You can have lots of fun playing with Colorforms new Barbie Dress-Up Kit.

I believe there's another version of this set very similar but with a different girl on the box

Boots cutout

Here is a panel from a newspaper featuring Boots Cut out.  This is dated 11-3-1940.  Boots pose is very unique, she is looking down and in the wind.  How interesting!  She has three outfits,  I think all these could be worn today!  There's a small hole in the paper from age.

Career Day at the Zoo

Here's a two page paper doll from Doll World Magazine.  I do not have a date.  I believe the artis is Susan Brack (because trying to do a google search for this brought up her name),  The doll has 6 outfits and some accessories including a face mask.

Famous-Heroes Color and Play

Here's a box set Colorforms Activity toy which features  Famous-Heroes or more commonly called today, superheros.  This is copyright National Periodical Publications, which I believe is now DC comics and the set is dated 1973. It features: Superman, Superboy, Krypto (the superdog), Aquaman and Aqualad, Batman and Robin, Green Lantern, the Flash, and Wonder Woman.  They are black and white and meant to be colored.  The set comes with 8 Crayola crayons, which are still unused and in the box.  It also says the colors can be wiped off and the figures colored again, but I'm not going to try and see if that works!  The figures also all have stands.

Dress Pickup

Here's another foreign anime-like style paper doll.  The only text I can read says Dress Pickup and on the back it reads "Lang Kuan Co. LTD. Made in Taiwan".  There are two large headed girls, a blonde  blue eyed girl with pigtails and a red head with blue eyes. They can share clothing.  The blonde is cut off a bit on the top of her head.  I do not know if these are characters from something.

Rainbow Brite Colorform dress-up set

Here's another Colorform set, this one is of the popular Hallmark character Rainbow Brite.  Her outfits are somewhat muted in comparison to the pamphlet examples and box art. She has two sheets of outfits with mix and match options and there are a few hats for her friend Twink ( a total of 20 pieces according to the box). I like the little illustration on the pamphlet that gives instructions on how to use the stand. This is dated 1983.

Paper Doll Babies 5 Dolls

This four page book from Saalfield 1944 features, as it's name would suggest, five baby dolls (though I would argue some look older, more like toddlers).  The babies are named Tommy, Billy, Celia, Lorna and the mysterious D whose name I cannot find in the book of clothing.  It is possible this is a cheaper version of a book with more pages.

Cover Girl a Paper Doll of a Toilet Paper Cover Doll

Do you know the strange Toilet Paper Doll covers that everyone's grandma used to have in their bathroom?  Well, these vintage crochet dolls have become somewhat popular in memes around the internet due to the toilet paper shortage.  These dolls are designed to hide away extra roll of bath tissue under their handmade dresses.  I decided to create a paper doll version just for fun.  I scanned everything in my wardrobe that had a knit or crochet like pattern such as dishrags, shawls and sweaters. Her TP design is actually from paper towels, because it scanned in better.  I used Pinterest to gather references of these vintage oddities here
