Faux Friends Paper Doll Ad



Sadly this paper doll set would not actually function very well.  Featured is a two page spread of Friends Stars Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox with outfit ideas.  The outfits are scaled too small however you could always make your own stylish wardrobe for the two women. This is from Cosmopolitan Magazine 1998 October.

 this two page paper doll is from Sweden magazine around 1969 and features the actress Sophia Loren with five outfits, I cannot translate the text but I believe it is a bio about the actress and some of the movies she is in at the time.

Movie Dressograph Shirley Temple




This is the only full size Movie Dressograph sheet I have.  the very famous Shirley Temple.  due to it's size and fragile nature, I cannot scan it, so instead I took pictures with my phone.  am I too lazy to rotate the pictures... yes I am! (also can't really figure out how to on my new phone yet) anyway Shirley has three dresses and a wig along with a bow.  This is dated December 23rd 1934.  maybe one day i'll be able to get a better scan of it.  the paper is separating in the middle where the newspaper has been folded.

Movie Dressographs Peggy Shannon




  Here's another paper doll from the Movie Dressograph series published by the St Louis Dispatch.  This is Peggy Shannon.  she has 3 outfits a jacket and scarf.  The text reads

A different movie star will make his or her appearance in this space every week.  Accompanying will be three costumes this particular player wore in various roles she has played on screen.
Cut out the player and paste on cardboard.  then cut out the costumes.  Now dress the star in her proper outfits, being careful to assemble each costume correctly.

This week's star is Peggy Shannon.  The three sets of costumes shown here were worn by her in these roles in the following movies:

Wanda Kelley in "The Secret Call" Lee millet in "The Road to Reno" and Mary Gehring in "Touchdown".

Marlene Dietrich



Here's another single page newspaper paper doll from the Movie Dressograph series published by the St Louis Dispatch.  This one features the celebrity Marlene Dietrich.  I don't believe I have ever seen another vintage paper doll set of her.  She has 3 outfits, one pair of gloves (to go with the first green dress), two hats, and a yellow collar.The page has discolored with age.  This is dated March 6, 1932.  She is so stylish, i would wear all three of these outfits today! The text reads:

"Marlene Dietrich

Most of the Dressographs say about the same thing, with only the the last two paragraphs changed  for the name and roles, and the pronouns for the gender.

Little miss movie star at the celebrity celebration

This single page paper doll is from Doll Reader magazine, August/September 1985.  The paper doll was a souvenir for the U.F.D.C Sacramento 1982 convention, which the theme was celebrities.  The black and white paper doll was created by Fabricat Designs and also available as post cards and greeting cards.

Another crazy week. Wish life would settle down just a bit.

Marlan Marsh

This Marlan Marsh celebrity paper doll is from the newspaper The Milwaukee Journal.  She has thee outfits and some hats along with a set of gloves.  The copyright is El Paso Times Feature Syndicate 1936. No exact date on sheet but faintly in pencil it is written 5-17-36.  I have a few sheets of these so it was part of a series called Movie Star Paper Doll Series.

Muny Opera Dressographs Hannah Toback
