I think this paper doll is missing a second page.  This Swedish panel is from a magazine and features the famous actress Marilyn Monroe with one outfit, 1960s early 1970s estimate date.

Happy New Year 2022

Happy New Year!  2022 is tomorrow.  To celebrate I have created this space themed Alien girl inspired by vintage/retro futurism such as the Jetsons.  I plan on coloring her tomorrow but no promises!  She has 14 spacey fashions, four pairs of shoes, and accessories.  Have an out of this world new year!

Cousin maggie and Friends cross stitch paper doll

So, I don't actually do much cross stitch, I prefer embroidery (mostly because one time I missed a line half way through and didn't notice til I was done!)  But someone donated some old cross stitch magazines to the library and I grabbed them.  To my surprise, I found a paper doll!  This was in Cross Stitch and Country Crafts magazine Novemeber/December 1990. Designed by Robin Clark. It includes a page with finished project and instructions and a pattern page with more instructions.

Angel and Dog Dress Pickup

Please note the following paper doll is topless but not anatomically accurate. Doll like nudity.

Here's another foreign Dress Pickup set called Angel and Dog.  However I believe the character from a old Japanese magical girl show called Magical Princess Minky Momo here  here.  However the colors in the main outfit (image 8) are different from the images online. The book has 8 pages total and a front and back cover and is a punch out cardboard.  It is made in Taiwan by Lang Kuan Co. LTD. I will not be posting as much because I am very busy next week with a holiday.

Kituk the Eskimo Boy

This cutout sheet features Kituk the Eskimo boy along with a folding sled, dog, and fish and furs. This is from Jack and Jill magazine and I believe the date is Feburary 1962.  The artist Katharine Seidle.  I'm back at work now, which has been weird and a bit crazy.  May not be able to post as often til things calm down.

Karin

This paper doll sheet is marked Vianna Verlag 1150 Wein made in Austria.  This is probably from the 60s or 70s I think.  Karin has 7 outfits and some hats and accessories.  I think I got this at a convention with some other foreign paper dolls but I don't recall much about it.

Julie Lady Dress Pickup

Above is a book printed in Taiwan but I believe the writing is in Japanese.  The pages are cardboard like with punch out clothing and accessories.  All I can read from the cover is Julie Lady Dress Pickup.  Julie is blond with green eyes and a pet koala.  She has many pages of clothing, shoes and accessories, (lots of orange)/  There is also a table with chairs and food. Her pet has a few outfits as well.  I'm guessing the date on this is late 80s to mid 90s based on the style of clothing.

Valentine's

I'm afraid I don't know much about these because they came from a freebie table at one the conventions.  I know they are from Hallmark and from around the 1960s but I do not know if it's complete.  I have six dolls that say things like "Happy Valentine's Day", "You're lots of fun"  "You're nice to know" "I like you" and "I'm glad we're friends".  Perhaps these were meant to give out in the classroom.  I have six outfits with six hats, the outfits can fit any doll.

Outfit a Sophisticate

Outfit a Sophisticate (tm) is a large single sticker sheet paper doll.  This is from the Sandylion company and is labeled as maxi activity stickers.  It is dated on the back by the previous owner as being received in 1984.  The doll is wearing some lacy lingerie and comes with 3 tops, 3 skirts, 2 pairs of shoes, and lots of other accessories including a cute dog named Popcorn.  I believe I got this from the Paper Doll convention freebie table (or maybe I bought it, can't really remember). I believe this one is rather rare.

I've been a bit stressed lately so I may take another short break from the blog to focus on school work.

B Boilesen Paper Doll

This groovy paper doll doesn't have much to help identify.  There is a small signature that I think says B Boilesen.  It is on a cardboard like sheet.  I believe it is foreign.  And I believe it is from the 60s or early 70s.  But I can't say for sure.

Joan Walsh Anglund Children's Page

I'm ready for Halloween!  Yes, it's next month, but I want it now!  Here's an adorable October page of Good Housekeeping magazine featuring Halloween themed paper dolls by the artist Joan Walsh Anglund.  This page is dated 1987.  On the cut out page is a girl and boy, each with a costume.  The girl will dress as a witch, the boy as a cat.  Lot of candy and accessories complete the page.  Main colors are orange and black, fitting to the season.
