Mother's Day Cards

Publisher Unknown

Norcross
I'm not usually a card person, I keep the cards I receive in a shoe box.  I recently went to a yard sale and purchased a small box of various cards that I plan to use in craft projects.  Here are two.  The bottom one is by Norcross, I do not know the publisher for the top one.  They are both for Mother's Day.

Happy Mother's Day

Here is my mother's day paper doll for 2014 in color.  The theme is princess/queen and features characters from Disney films.  I do not own these characters but this is fan art/parody.  some of the text is hard to read because it did not scan well.  I hope everyone has a happy mother's day.The card reads "Who is... Fairer than Snow White?... More Beautiful than Sleeping Beauty.. Kinder than Bell..." "Who is... Braver than Merida... Cooler than Elsa?  My mother!  Queen Bee who deserves to be treated like Royalty!"

Mom Queen Bee

Here is my second mother's day paper doll for 2014.  This one is a Princess/Queen theme featuring characters from Disney movies such as: Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Belle, Merida from Brave, and Elsa from Frozen.  I do not own these characters but this is fanart/parody.  The model is similar to the Super Hero theme but in a different pose.  Some of the text did not scan in as well as I would hope and my scanner is still making things a little blue/grey.  Please no negative comments on the model's shape.  The colored version of this doll will be posted tomorrow.

Super mom colored

My 2014 Mother's Day Paper Doll in color.  The super heroes are owned by Marvel, DC, and Pixar but this is fanart/parody.  I kept a very simple shading to save time.  I have a second Mother's Day paper doll design that I will post this weekend.  Please no negative comments about the model's size.   The card reads "My mom is... More Wonderful than Wonder Woman.  More Amazing than Spiderman. More Fantastic than The Fantastic 4."  "My Mom is... More Incredible than the Incredibles.  More Marvelous than Captain Marvel.  More Super than Super Man.  My Mom is my Super Hero!"

Super Mom

Here is my 2014 Mother's Day Paper Doll in black and white!  She has super hero themed outfits.  I do not own any of the heroes on this page, the copyright belongs to DC, Marvel, and Pixar.  I am using them as fan art/ parody.  The heroes include: Wonder Woman, Spiderman, Invisible Woman from the Fantastic Four, Mrs. Elastic from the Incredibles, Captain Marvel (aka Shazam) and Superman.  Please do not negatively comment on the model's size.  This is my first time drawing a full figured plus size model.  Most mother's are not twigs.  I have colored this paper doll and will post it soon.  I have a very busy weekend ahead, including a wedding, mother's day, and a job interview

Pages from Peggy Jo Rosamund1989

1989

1989
Here are two pages from magazines by the artist Peggy Jo Rosamund.  I do not know what magazines these came from, but they are both dated 1989.  The top one is a lovely doll with outfits from various countries.  The bottom one is a double sided 'Puss in Boots' cat.  If anyone has more information about these dolls, that would be helpful.

Various magazine Pantins

Doll News

Doll Reader Nov 1986

Doll Reader December 1988/Jan 1989

Pantins, also known as jumping jacks or jointed/articulated paper dolls, are made of several parts, usually a body with arms and legs.  The arms and legs are attached, by brads or string, and the pantin then can move or be posed.  Here are some magazine pantins, most in black and white.  The Santa only has moveable arms and instructions on how to make his arms move.  Some of these dolls, I do not know the date or magazine they came from.  These came from a small lot purchase from goodwill online stores.
