Jane Arden

This is from July 7 1942.  I really love the outfit that features a bow and arrow.  She has four outfits and three hats.  This pose was common with Jane Arden paper dolls.  I will not post much this week.  The main colors in this doll are green, blue and red.  This is a folded full page but only the paper doll has been scanned.  The paper is brittle and yellowing because of age.

Kokeshi paper doll

These two pages are from the book "Kokeshi Style: Design Your Own Kokeshi Fashions" by Annelore Parot published by Chronicle Books.  The book features instructions on how to draw kokeshi fashions and gives suggestions on patterns.  There were four pages like this in the book but I only show two.  You cut out the doll and clothes and can use them like paper dolls. I am currently working on my own kokeshi inspired paper doll for the upcoming theme of OPDAG, which is Regions of the World.

Mary Frances

Here is paper doll by Dorothy McLaughlin based on a book by Jane Fryer and Jane Boyer 1913.  I do not know when this doll was published or what magazine she came from.  I love her little doll with some matching outfits.  If anyone has more information on this doll, please let me know.

Bowtastic and Bowtiful Designs (Convention Raffle Prize)

Here is a doll I designed for the 2014 National Paper Doll Convention raffle prize.  The convention is going on now June 25th through the 29th in Richmond, VA.  Due to tight budgeting, I cannot attend the convention this year.  I decided to do a doll with a bow theme and mostly mix and match outfits.  I wanted to make more pages and I may add to her wardrobe in the future, but the deadline creeped up on me.  I made the doll and clothing with Adobe Photoshop CS5.  She has four pages of clothing with 8 hairstyles, 7 pairs of shoes, 8 purses, 6 dresses, 9 tops and 9 bottoms.  The doll has an anime inspiration.  I will be posting less this month and the next few months.  Why does this say sample?  I may expand this set and have it for sale one day...  The convention raffle prize is signed by me and will be the only one ever signed.  THIS DOLL IS NOW FOR SALE (download) ON MY ETSY SHOP!

Here are three of five quintuplet dolls with hand made outfits. These are from the set by Merrill from 1935.  I only have the dolls and original no clothing or accessories.  The outfits are colored with crayon.  The dolls have some bends.
