100 days 2019 now in color

Often times, I NEVER get around to coloring things.  So here's a quick color of 100 days project from last year, since I'm working on another 100 day challenge for this year.  This year, however, after day 50 I will be coloring the pages.  Anyway to see the black and white versions, click  here.  I made two dolls they can share clothing but a few pairs of shoes are specific to each doll because of the different skin tones.  Some mix and match outfits and some full outfits in different styles including lolita, decora, vintage, punk, steampunk and goth.

Fels-Naptha

This is a photocopies of Fels-Naptha magazine advertisements. The doll has one outfit that is 'clean' and she is wearing a 'dirty' outfit.  I don't have a date on this
The text on the first reads
"The welcome that had to be washed away
Helen arrived, all by herself, to visit her Aunt Mary.  Up the steps and into the house she went- to be greeting with hugs and kisses. 'Deary me, you look clean and neat as a a pin!' exclaimed Aunt Mary, taking Helen's bag and coat and hat.  But no sooner had she said the words than in rushed Jerry, the Airedale pup.  leaping and bounding with delight, he planted his muddy front paws on Helen leaving great splotches all over her fresh clean dress. 'Down, Jerry, down!' said Aunt Mary sternly, for just a trace of tears glistened in Helen's eyes.  'You shouldn't say 'how-do-you-do; liek that!' 'He's made my party dress look dreadful for visiting' sniffed Helen.  'Don't you worry about that dear,' said Aunt Mary, smiling. "Fels-Naptha Soap will take out those muddy footprints without any trouble at all.  Why we're been using Fels-Naptha for years to wash little girls' clothes like yours!'"

"Fels-Naptha the golden bar with the clean Naptha odor
Fels-Naptha Soap brings extra help to the to the whole family wash- the extra help of two active cleaners, working together.  Naptha, the safe cleaner that dry cleaners use, blended with good golden soap by special Fels-Naptha process.  The naptha loosens the grime and dirt, the rich, soapy suds wash them away.  Together, they give the extra help that takes the place of hard rubbing. Fels-Naptha works effectively in washing-machines or tub, or when clothes are boiled. It works in cool or lukewarm water- and it's gentle to the hands!  Next wash-day, see that Fels-Naptha brings its extra help to your house.  You can order Fels-Naptha Soap from your grocer."

Karin

This paper doll sheet is marked Vianna Verlag 1150 Wein made in Austria.  This is probably from the 60s or 70s I think.  Karin has 7 outfits and some hats and accessories.  I think I got this at a convention with some other foreign paper dolls but I don't recall much about it.

Tille the Toiler

This newspaper panel features Tillie the Toiler, glancing sideways in a lovely profile view.  She has two outfits, and a wonderful large blue hat. The original drawing was sent by Tiny Milbourne. It is dated 7-1-1934.

This newspaper doll is from Jane Arden's Wardrobe and dates 5-16-1937.  She has 4 outfits and three hats.  I love tall these outfits!  The blue cape is my favorite.  She also has an extra pair of heels.

She's Business Girl in Doll Family

This sheet by Laura Brock is missing a good bit of the corner, but thankfully the paper doll and clothing are intact, but we lose a bit of the dolls story.  her name is Stella and she is the' business girl' in the doll family.  She looks a bit young to go to work everyday. 6-18 is the month and day but i don't have a year.

Strawberry Sue

Here is a box set of the character Strawberry Sue.  She had two paper doll books as well.  It is published by Whitman I believe the year is 1979.  She has 9 panels of clothing in an accordion fold so one page is shown twice here.  I forget how hard box sets are to scan because the sheets are so long and the clothes are punch out so you can't bend it too much.  New blogger format seems to reduce the quality of the images so I've switched back to the older version.
